The Cougar football
program enjoys a rich heritage of bowl participation, beginning
in 1916 with the first Rose Bowl and continuing through 2003
when Washington State defeated the Texas Longhorns 28-20 in the Holiday Bowl.
The Cougars
have developed into a college football powerhouse in the past decade,
as demonstrated by four bowl appearances—including two Rose
Bowls—in the last ten seasons. And the future looks bright for more bowl games in
the years ahead.
